Next Hybrid Supercar, Does This One Take The Cake?
Introducing Koenigsegg's Regera, 1782hp Twin Turbo 5.0L V8 with 3 electric motors and their new Direct Drive system.
The Battle of the Hybrid Supercars is definitely on! Ferrari's LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and McLaren P1 have all brought their A-game when it comes to producing the finest machines with the most technologically advanced engineering behind their systems. Much stemming from the R&D of F1, these vehicles are the street-ripping performance supercars of the once future.
Koenigsegg is no stranger to building the fastest vehicles known, and now they're entering the hybrid supercar series championships. The Koenigsegg Regera sports a 5.0L featuring twin turbochargers that makes 1085hp on it's own. While that is already deep into supercar territory, why stop there? Koenigsegg saw no reason to either, so they add 3 electric motors, 1 on each rear wheel rated at 192ft. lbs/ea, then 1 more for good measure placed on the crankshaft rated at 221ft. lbs/ea. Totaling the power reaches an unbelievable 1782hp and 1475 ft. lbs of torque.
Coming in at $1.8M, it's not for everyone, but if your vehicle's budget supports the best of the best supercar, be ready to buy the best offered by Koenigsegg!
